Duo Mobile MFA: how to add another device

1. Select “Other options”

When you are trying to log in to a service that needs Duo Mobile MFA authentication you can manage your devices by selecting “Other options”:

You can try these to access the device management:

Mepco has a forced Duo Mobile MFA authentication
when you are logging into other LUT services from outside of the campus network (e.g. your home Wi-Fi).

3. Choose “Manage devices”

3. Authenticate yourself

You will be asked to authenticate your login to the management panel in the same way as if you were authenticating yourself to any other LUT service. Use your existing device to authenticate your login. “Duo Push” is the simplest method.

4. Select “Add a device”

Choose “Add a device” when you want to add another device for the authentication in Duo Mobile MFA.

In the device management view you can edit your current device or add a new device.

If you have a new phone but the phone number (mobile subscription) does not change you can choose “I have a new phone”

5. Select a method

From this menu you can select a new method for the authentication:

6. Add a device

Add a phone number (optional) or add a device without the phone number by selecting “I have a tablet”

7. Confirm the phone number (if added)

Accept the phone number

8. Activate Duo Mobile MFA

Activate the device via the Duo Mobile application with the provided QR-code or get the activation link by pressing “Get an activation link instead”

9. Add an email (activation link option)

If you chose the option to “Get an activation link instead”, you will need to input an email

You have now successfully added a new device/method for the authentication for Duo Mobile MFA
